Monetizing transactions between the seller and the buyer lets you earn a percentage or a fixed commission on every deal paid through your marketplace.
Commissions are flexible and can be inherited by priority. The lowest priority applies to the commission set for all products on the marketplace, while the highest priority applies to the commission for a specific vendor (seller company) or a vendor group through their subscription plan.
Transactions can be handled by the marketplace in different ways (direct payment to the marketplace account, commission reimbursement by the vendor, or payment splitting). In this plugin, the simplest and most convenient option for a new marketplace is implemented: «commission reimbursement by the vendor».
The vendor can configure in their account dashboard which payment methods they are ready to accept for orders of their products or services. When a payment is made, the full order amount goes to the vendor’s payment system account, and the commission is charged from the vendor’s internal account on the marketplace. The vendor pays the marketplace commission by simply topping up the account for the required amount, in the same way they top up their account to pay for internal promotion services for their listings.
The marketplace owner can set a minimum balance threshold for vendors’ internal accounts. This means vendors must either keep the account in a positive balance to continue selling, or they can carry a debt to the marketplace within the set limits.
Add-ons can only work together with a parent plugin. You must install it first, and then the Add-on.
